Someone told me this about LA decades ago and I did not understand. LA had over 12-14M people, tons of stuff to do, sport teams, etc..
Now when you go to NYC (similar to Madrid, Paris, London, etc), there a sense of city center. There is a sense that if something happens, everyone comes together. I was in NYC when they had 911 and the Northeast blackout and everyone helped each other. In NYC it does not matter what financial bracket you are in, you are all NY'rs..
In LA we are all seperate. Educated, versus, subculture. LA versus OC, White versus others, Bimmers versus SUVs. LA is a collection of neighborhoods. I use to like this as a kid, but not it just seems like a mess.
Anyone agree with my analysis? Just my opinion, but now I live in OC for the schools, the beaches, and the clean roads...
