Hoo boy do I understand that! About my 3rd or 4th day in Beijing, some of the dog or cat we ate wasn't agreeing with my stomach too well and it was becoming urgent. I found a public toilet in a market, paid my 5 yuan or whatever it was and went inside. A room about 10x10 with a few holes in the floor and a stench like the dead. Literally, one man pissing over another man who was squatting. I turned around and left - I knew I just couldn't do it without vomiting. Walked about 2 blocks, came upon a really nice 5-star hotel, air conditioning, marble washrooms, the works. I left them a really nice present to say thanks!
