Hey guys...

I was living in Regina in 2007/2008 and, having been an active member of the Ottawa club, tried to organize an SK chapter of WRR. I had the blessing of the WRR and PCA executive (who were all VERy supportive), and was given the title of "Saskatchewan Events Chair" (woooohooo!)

Unfortunately, my efforts of advertising at cars shows, leaving business cards under Porsche wipers, and trying to generate word of mouth through independent Porsche and import mechanics was to no avail. I just couldn't touch enough Porsche owners to get the X% that would want to become active PCA members.

For all its good intentions, it's important to recognize that 99.9% of WRR's membership is in Calgary and the surrounding area, and it's tough for them to organize a 7-8hr drive to Regina or Saskatoon to meet the one or two active/interested members there. IIRC, there was only a handful of registered SK members, all of whom were inactive.

Interestingly, I have some experience with a similar situation - the Rennsport Region covers a large geographic area and is comprised of three major cities - Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec, with several smaller cities like Kingston, Trois-Rivieres, and Sherbrooke in between. The solution that they have (and it works) is there are three separate chapters of the club, based in Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec. Each chapter organizes their own events in coordination with the club execs, and all members are invited to all events. It seems to work quite well, and I was really hoping to organize the same setup in WRR.

However, the key to making this successful is to get a critical mass of SK members who are committed to making it happen. I think that if there were at least 10 active members in SK, you could start justifying your own events and maybe even get the Calgary crew to come and join you once a year!

I wish you guys the best of luck. It would great to see an active PCA group in SK! (I still go back to Regina a few times a year).
