I was talking to my wife about this post. Her first real job out of college was as a bank teller. She remembers a very large lady coming in the bank and going straight to the bathroom. About a minute later out comes the lady with a large handful of very wet cash. Another teller was the lucky one to accept the deposit. She used a pencil to separate the bills and count them. She used two pencils like chop sticks to pile the money into stacks. It went right back to the Fed. This was back in the late 70s so no one had rubber gloves.
