A long time ago I was dating a girl who had an old POS honda civic. She had hit a curb and bent one of the front struts.

I snagged a new strut, but at the time all I had was a one car garage and most of my tools were in storage. I improvised and with a scissors jack and a couple of strategically placed 2x4s I used the garage door opening to jack against and compress the strut. It was a human mouse trap waiting for an excuse to snap, but it worked and I got the job done in 30 minutes.
