I’ve got my eye on something else, so after many years (and upgrades) I’m letting my 1987 Carrera 3.2 “G50” go. This car was purchased new here in Atlanta at Jim Ellis Porsche. My brother was its previous owner. We are both long-time Porsche owners…30+ years for me, 37+ for him. This is an exceptional, fully documented car with no accident history, the original window sticker and all books and records back to Day One. It is a garage queen that never been autocrossed or DE’d, and still wears most of its original paint. It currently has 118K miles.
Here is a list of the options and upgrades:
• Marine Blue metallic paint
• 16x7 and 16x8 Fuchs with professionally polished rims
• Partial leather interior, Marine Blue
• Electric sunroof
• Factory alarm system
• Recaro SE front seats, recovered to match*
• RS door panels*
• RS carpet, dark blue
• Rennspeed ducktail*
• Momo Prototipo steering wheel*
• Crested center caps
• Blaupunkt Santa Monica AM-FM-CD w/ external amp
• “Rotated” speedometer face upgrade by North Hollywood Speedometer
• Top end overhaul w/ bronze valve guides at 109K mi.
• ARP head studs ($$$) installed at 117K mi.
• New engine cooling fan and fan housing
• Shifter bushings recently replaced
• Turbo tie rods
• Rear axles/CV joints replaced
• Steering rack replaced
• Alternator replaced
• Rear bumperettes deleted
• Recent new battery
• Custom ordered M&K dual outlet muffler*
• Zimmermann drilled rotors, Textar street pads
• Braided stainless brake lines
• Recent new Sigla windshield
• OEM Porsche car cover
* Original parts are included, should you wish to return to stock.
Aside from the typical marginal air conditioning system that these cars were born with, this is a fully sorted, always garaged, never smoked in, no issues G50 Carrera. I had planned to upgrade the A/C system and will include a 993 front condenser with fan if you want it.
I’m asking
$24,500 firm. The valve guide and head stud problems that these cars are noted for have been taken care of, as have most if not all of the usual wear items. Attached are some recent photos, but if you are interested, e-mail me and I’ll forward some more. The car is located in Smyrna, Ga which is an Atlanta suburb.
