Sucks to get old. Seems like someone you know is dying every week.

My friend found a lump in her breast yesterday. Another had a lump in his testicles 6 months ago. Another has thyroid cancer. These friends are in their late 30's and early 40's.

I don't know of a blood relative of mine in their upper 70's - all dead.

My dad has been battling prostate cancer for almost 10 years. He has a great attitude.

I have to admit that when I hang around with some of my overachiever friends who work night and day, that deep down I think they are fools. Life is very quick. Enjoy it while you can. Do what it takes to be comfortable and then sit back and relax a little - get to know your children while they are still children. I have several friends who don't see their kids for 5-6 months a year due to business travel.
