I'll second the notion that for suits, sportcoats, nice slacks and dress shirts you ought to try custom tailoring. Better materials, better workmanship and the fit is obviously much better. Plus, you can have the little details your way. I often get my pants made without rear pockets, as I never use them. My shirt cuffs are slightly larger on the left side to accomodate a watch. I have cell phone pockets put into jackets.... you get the idea.
For shoes, I'd recommend the Italian made Johnston Murphy's, or Bruno Magli. They can be as comfortable as a custom shoe and much cheaper. I have some that are nearing 30 years old.
