I have attended for the last 15 years. My employer knows not to even think of asking me to miss it.
Most years, I fly the Pacer and camp with the plane in a tent. I usuallyattend by myself as it is my annual get away. My wife and daughters have gone a few years, but I really like being able to do what I want the entire time without worrying about whether everyone else is having fun. I take my bicycle with me and usually venture into the campgrounds in the evenings to spend time at various friend's more civilized campsites.
I got my fill of camping in my youth and later in the Army, but with multiple shower facilities, plenty of food vendors and friends with well stocked beer coolers in the main campground, this is not so bad.
The return trip home is even kind of fun.... staying just below/outside of Chicago's airspace just off the shore line.
