Could be some truth in this...outside of the Porsche world, my Mustang Bullitt gets more friendly comments from people I don't know than the 911S ever did. So, yes, the general public must have a "perception" about the owners of certain cars...but then, each member of the "general public" is his own individual, so perceptions vary.
Perhaps the Mustang looks more friendly, not as agressive?
