Door lock cylinder "gaskets"

I've dissasembled my door handles to have them powder coated.

There is a "gasket" (C shaped rubber) that sits where the lock cylinder meets the internal guts.

Needless to say, they are brittle and broke. Has anyone used something as an alternative? I don't see a part number in PET. They appear to maybe not serve a big purpose since they are not a complete circle. Just leave 'em out and don't worry about it?
