We haven't seen this thread in a while, and the how old are you thread is getting close to having more replies.
Can't have that, nobody is hollering at each other in that one, so no fun.
My take on the issue: Not my first choice, but if it saves a car from the scrap yard because a new engine cost's too damn much, go for it.
