CCleaner Update:

My wife's used Dell laptop(XP operating system) was acting slow so she decided to try CCleaner.

After installation it indeed was working faster and better, then she tried to power down and restart. It asked her if she wanted to back up the registery, which she said "yes' to, and the screen went all black never to return.

I did a Google search on this problem and found out it does happen from time to time (not often). The fix is to reinstall everything, but because this was a used computer with no original backup discs this was not possible.

We took it back to the shop, and for $177 they got it to work and were able to save her documents/photos, but she had to reload all the programs and updates herself.

Do not use CCleaner unless you have backed up everything and have backup operating system disc.
