My thoughts too. Having the valve job already done would give peace of mind. We bought dad's 86 when it had 65k miles, and I cringe at the thought of it starting to smoke.
The fact that the interior is in bad shape wouldn't concern me one iota. Replacing an interior would be a fun, relatively inexpensive project.
