You can offset grind your 1.7/1.8 to get the 2L stroke. Porsche/VW did it, that's why the journal diameter is smaller than the 1.7/1.8 (actually, I would think they recast the crank).

My concern is why spend the money to offset grind and possibly get into the soft metal on the journal, possibly requiring heat treating when you can purchase a stroker crank for reasonable dollars (you would have to change the rods too). I have been told that a 74 mm stroker will fit the TIV case without clearance problems - anything above that requires case grinding (relief).

Want a 2L crank - find a used one. It will be cheaper in the long run.

As for the bus motor, somone else will have to answer that. I heard the clutch was different, but have no experience with them.
