I'm currently with Hagerty and have been for quite a few years.
A couple of things..
There is an "in sight" clause in some of these policies. Basically means the car has to be in "your sight" the whole time. Hagerty doesn't have this, but many do.... so if you take your car on a Sunday drive, stop for lunch... and if your car gets stolen, or damaged and it was around the corner...it's your tough luck.
Also, if you take your car to work...even if your other car is in the shop...no coverage. Again, if you take your car to a shop for any kind of restoration (not maintenance), your car typically isn't covered, so make sure the shop "is".
And another... no trips to the mall. Going to a movie and it's located at the mall? Skip it, even if you park "safe", no coverage. Same if you go to a restaurant that has a location that is considered a mall, again... no coverage. I'm thinking of restaurants that are theme oriented that have some locations in upscale areas with malls, we have a mall locally that has a PF Changs, Ruth Chris, Z-Tejas, Cheesecake Factory etc.
So, ask if any of your driving or parking habits are covered....
Now there is an insurance company that does do some regular driving coverage, it was a discussion on Pelican. Do a search, and I think you'll find it.
