We put the family Mac in the kitchen, so we see whatever website the kids are viewing. You can also check the "history" in the browser every now and then. My daughter leaves her Gmail open so every now and then I check who she is emailing to/from. We also disabled text on all our cellphones. Those measures have been enough, for us. The location of the computer is the most important thing.
