She could have been treated badly by someone with darker skin if she's a rescue dog.
I was home one day many years ago and our previous dog was barking at some black kids walking home from where the school bus let them off. She was barking very aggressively at them from the side of the back yard... we are on a corner. They reached down at the edge of the street and began scrounging for pebbles and were throwing them at her through the chainlink fence. I opened the back door and told them to cut it out.
It could have been a fairly regular occurance... I don't know, but she didn't like people with darker skin.
