I do, but I'd still go up there for lunch.

"Despise" is maybe too strong - it's hotter than hades and largely a dump (some nice areas, like in Glendale where I used to work, parts of Burbank, etc.) but I generally don't find much reason to have to go there.

This is opposed to the City of Los Angeles itself, which I make a deliberate and conscious effort to avoid at all costs.
