There is 2 connectors on the front of the engine that you cant see without a mirror. One is the cold start valve and the other is the shutoff for the pump when the engine is not running.
The connectors are both blue green so they get mixed up..more than occasionally.
The wire on the left rear chain cover will OHm with the coldstart valve.
I would just switch the 2 and there should be some success without metering anything
but that is how the coldstart checks out.
