A month or two back, I ran over a 6-8' stepladder in the miata. The car in front of me braked pretty hard, I slowed a bit and at the last second, saw a ladder shoot out from under their car. It was in the middle of the lane and parallel to the flow of traffic. Fortunately I had the car running a bit higher than usual from when I carpooled with my buddy. I cringed as I ran over it. Fortunately I guess my car was just high enough. I heard a clunk and that was it. The previous weekend I had nearly lowered my car about 3/4". Thank goodness I hadn't.
