Car Show at Work Today
Today is our annual charity car show at work, where we support a local "Books and Backpacks" drive for underpriviledged children going back to school in the fall. It's a pretty low-key show'n'shine kind of a deal.
Anyway, Magnum P.I. pulls in and parks next to me in his 308. Nice car; red with tan leather interior, in pretty much showroom condition. The guy places a sign inside both lower corners of the windshield saying "please do not touch. To guarantee your continued viewing pleasure of this fine automobile, it is requested that you look and do not touch".
You guys probably know me well enough to guess what happens next. I scamper back in to my desk and make my own window sign that reads: "Please feel free to touch. To guarantee maximum viewing pleasure of this vehicle, it is requested that you feel free to touch it, crawl under and all around it, or anything else that enhances your viewing pleasure. You can even sit in it and make engine noises if you like. Thank you for your cooporation".
