I have had both val 1 and escort and find the val 1 to be superior with both side by side tests. The problem with laser is the beem is very narrow(think red/green dot lasers for guns). I have had FHP come over and when using laser if not pointed DIRECTLY at the val1 or escort it will not pick it up. However stills works very well for k/ka because laser is to expensive for alot of departments.
