911nut, how do you know? Was he looking at the gun as you drove by? A friend of mine mounted a laser jamming system on his S4, and loved the puzzled cop examining/shaking the laser gun as he went by.

I think the reality is, nothing will guarantee protection in all cases. Instant-on is a *****. But the detector has a lot of value, as does watching brake lights ahead, knowing the roads you're on, and keeping alert.

I have a v1 that I mounted just under my rear view mirror, tucked up under it a bit. I have a remote display under the knee pad, so the lights don't show at night to cars behind me. I ran the cord up around the windshield under the seal, so it just comes out above the rear-view. If I think I might get pulled over, V1 goes under the seat and the cord gets flipped up over the sun shade. Almost impossible to tell I was running anything.

Interestingly, the one thing the V1 doesn't pick up is the "your speed is XX" signs that you see going into towns or at toll booths. Anyone know what they use? I am always a little perplexed that I don't pick them up.
