Here's the update. The black wire with 2 blue stripes that was melted appears to be the "lamp control" wire. (Which lamp/s?) In its place on connector K, slot 7, is a piece of speaker wire (with the green tape on it up near the connector). It looks like the original wire died so the PO just ran the speaker wire to replace it. The other end of the speaker wire goes to a relay mounted under the console (slot #9), behind the clock. Is this the path of the original black / blue wire (connector K to relay under console)?
