Geez, what a mess. I haven't been able to find any detailed info for an 82 Euro (besides the factory wiring diagrams, which I HATE), so I have been using an EXCEL file I found titled "Central Electrical Draft Plug Map for 1984 USA 928 In Excel" to help me along. There are several instances in which my 82 Euro doesn't match up, but for the most part it is really close. According to it, there are only 2 white wires with green stripes, and they are to the fog lights. Why the one to the right light was unplugged and taped up, God only knows. I plugged it back in.
Vdubr928, you were right about the seat belt chime relay identification, but a PO had replaced it with some 911 relay. The correct one, that SHOULD be in there, is part # 928.618.102.03, but the one that is currently in there is 91161810201. A new 928.618.102.03 is at least $160!!!
Does this relay serve any purpose other than the seat belt chime? Do I need to replace it with the correct relay because it also controls something important?
In addition, a PO ran an alternate piece of wire from connector K7 (lamp control wire) to this 911 relay after the original black/blue wire apparantly fried. Is this acceptable, or do I need to run this end of the alternate wire somewhere else?
Anyone?
I understand electrical issues are boring, not fun like working on the "hardware," but any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
