I did find out another piece of useful advice yesterday. My father-in-law (whom we got the 928 from; well traded a perfectly good and running Chevy S-10 for) dropped by yesterday for a bit and mentioned that he once turned on the rear defogger and 10 minutes later the entire back glass shattered! I guess I'd better go back and unplug that wire / relay until I can test it.
