Don you are right, there is no significant difference in power between a zork and my muffler in a sub-400WHP 930. I cannot say on a 400+WHP engine because I have not tested them on one.
Here is the most simple system I offer. The sound is great. Both Sandman and Spence88 have these one their cars. Spence's is muffled and I think Sandy's is a hooligan.
