I was going to bid also - this has happened before with this seller when I was going to bid on a clock and the required starting bid was doubled halfway through the auction by the seller. It's like you have to bid against both the seller and other bidders. In the case of the torque tube, it appears that the low starting point and cheap shipping price for a heavy and cumbersome item would not be profitable for this seller so he ended it.
A crappy way to have an auction.
