when the military base closed here back in the 90's, which i worked on back then and still do, there were many pets left behind. i would see large packs of cats mostly. most died off pretty quick. i dont remember seeing a lot of dog packs.
what people dont remember is that they are animals that we domesticated. hunting is still an instinct to them.
