For those interested, BMW has been playing commercials where it suggests they will commit $4,500 to a trade in on for one of their new clean diesel models.

Plus, if the trade-in is a clunker, they won't crush it, unlike our government, but would rather resell the trade in to someone who might need a used car.

In all, the $4,500 is actually a sweet little deal, as BMW's diesels are a bit pricey.
