Not really, but if they charge too much, which happens ( they can try), I provide the data, plans, numbers to show them that they're wrong, and that were not paying extra.
I work for a group of contractors and I check the subcontractos so they don(t charge too much.

The job includes two tunnels (2 x 1000m), 8.5 meters in diameter, a lot of roadworks and the expansion of an underground railwaystation (from 2 tracks to 4)
