The Colt Python is smoother right outa the box. Don't need to do nothin to it. But a few bux into a S&W and they smooth right on out.
Colts just don't like the heavy loads.
Mostly I would say it is a matter of personal preference. Both guns are going to shoot better than most people can hold them.
My parameters were an early 686..with either the 4 or 8 inch barrel at a good price.
