Another fantastic evening with my family. I'm getting a little sentimental about Sunday dinners. Sunday has always been a family night. I cook for my wife, my three kids and my dad. My kids never make plans for Sunday evening. It's a tradition that we spend Sunday evening together.
My dad is 84 now and he never misses Sunday dinner. My kids love their grandpa like I do. My son leaves for college in a few weeks and I know it won't be the same when he's gone.
Anyway, tonight I tried something new. Roasted asparagus in olive oil, salt, pepper and dried red pepper. The salmon is wild, caught by the Klamath river Indians. It was rubbed with olive oil, salt, pepper and minced garlic. It's served on fillo dough that's topped with fresh pesto and sliced heirloom tomato. We drank a Pinot Noir from Domaine Carneros.
I'm going to miss these days.
