Hi Les, My first DIY a couple years ago on my '83. Metal bushing from our host is easy fix for $12.95. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/por_911M_miscel_main.htm Don't think it will hurt to drive it. Check steering wheel for broken spoke too.
