May be a stupid question, but I've heard both terms on this forum and would like to know the difference. Based upon the comments from Geronimo (above), I would have thought the 911 has massive amounts of HOT AIR in the engine compartment.

A cone filter on a 911 isn't really a cold air intake. The filter would have to be relocated to a fender well to use cooler air than the engine compartment. Doesn't really seem possible in a 911.
