A lot of people think that when you install a cone filter, the engine will "inhale" hot(ter) air because you delete the factory airbox with the curved tube that is connected to it. (that is why Roc Doc made the "hot air induction" remark. It was a joke...)
Said curved tube is supposed to allow only "cold" air from near the decklid grill into the combustionchambers.
Experience teaches us that because the fan rushes so much air thruogh the engine bay, that air temperature is about the same everywhere and is only marginaly higher than ambient, outside temperature.
Hence it makes very little difference whether you use the stock set up or a cone filter.
Important is that the stock filter does a very good job filtering (better than cone filters) while letting through more then enough air. The cone filter will make your car sound throatier but will not give more HP. It does look nicer IMO and will let you acces things more easily in there.
