When I was a kid I loved hockey and I still do now.
There was a period of time when I was so done with it I didn't lace up for 13 years. Playing summer and winter hockey, I found myself being the last guy on the ice and the first guy off.
I was disappointed when I realized that I was going nowhere and had a few dickheads for coaches. I quit.
13 years later I laced up the old Tacs and skated by myself on an outdoor rink.
You know what it was that captured that old feeling? The sound....
The sound of your blades digging into rough outdoor ice. The sound bouncing off the boards.
It was like falling in love again with something that you didn't know that you missed that badly.
I am still playing today... I hope I can still keep playing for a while yet.
