When I was a kid, I found a potato peeler in an old barn. We cleaned it up and much to our surprise, it works...
It's a real odd looking gizmo. All metal, with gears and a fork that you stab the potato onto. Then you turn a crank, the potato spins, a blade comes down and touches the potato. As it spins, the blade slices off the skin automatically moving back and forth over the countours.
It's pretty cool and probably fairly old. I think I found it in the early 70's. Other weird things I've drug home for my Dad... A complete 1936 Encyclopedia set that we still have, old wooden Ford batteries, and some glass batteries.
He still has every one of my childhood Bring Home to Dad treasures - LOL!
