In Wayne's thread about the credit card rip off, he mentioned the Invisalign braces. I did not want to thread-jack so I'll ask my question here.
Those are a kind of invisible braces to straighten teeth.

I am aware of the limitations of what these kind of braces can do.
But I believe I need only minor straightening of some upper teeth.
Are there any of you that know this system, have used it already?
I have at least a few dozen patients use it.
Did you get the desired result or was it a waste of money?
I think on a whole they were satisfied. You have to fit the desired criteria for these, which is mostly that you don't want visible braces. The cost is more the conventional braces and the length of time wearing them is also longer.
How hard is it to keep the braces in all day? I've read that in order to get the results in within the period that you have to wear them at least 21 hours per day.
This is true. You only take them out to eat and maybe for a few hours during the day. Any longer and you are delaying the progress and you will be wearing them longer
Are the as invisible as promised? If not, how bad is it?
I'm 33 and I'm not really looking forward to old-school braces, so this is important to me.
They are about as invisible as wearing a bleaching tray, and not noticable until you have to remove them to eat anything or have difficulty talking. Old school braces have come along way. They know use clear brackets for generally no extra cost. I do think Invisalign has its place. Generally someone that needs some minor tooth movement and is in a position that the don't want braces, (actors, newscasters, ) Beyond that, I would go with conventional.
Thanks for the input guys.
