Look into Hankooks. Not sure if they are worth a damn, but they look mean, and are really soft. My bro just put a set on his FJ60, the rest of the cruisers run AT's and are plenty of tire around these parts.
What are you putting tires on, if you don't mind me asking? Much of the time the problem can be solved by getting a different rig, like austin552 has figured out, maybe. J/K Austin, well maybe not.
