Good question. I retorqued at 1k. I am at 8k now and was wondering the same thing b/c I will be adjusting the valves at 10k.
What about the cam tower nuts? Do those need to be checked as well?
You are lucky to have the opportunity to recheck everything with the engine out. Checking head studs with the engine in the car is no easy task ... at least it wasn't for me.
