Theres a huge amount of implications when I start thinking that way. Anything I develop here is property of the Uni, and they have patent lawyers if I really wanted, but unfortunately if I do develop something and go that route, they take 70% of any profits, making up for the free patent services.
Without getting too much into it, starting my own LLC to manufacture and market anything I develop while here using Uni resources is illegal. That doesn't mean all my data on my laptop isn't mine to keep.
Unfortunately as soon as I leave I lose access to all my composite ovens (which I built) and my freezers of carbon fiber (which I helped stock from), along with all the computer analysis software I know and love.
Plus, the carbon composite bike world is pennies compared to the money I should be making applying last year's research project: computational fluid dynamics modelling of open wheeled, single seater racecars.
