I'd think that the benefit of a .22 conversion on your regular gun (if it existed) would be that you'd be practicing with your normal grip, trigger, sights, etc.... So lets say you buy a .22 that's got a DAO trigger and your main gun is a DA/SA. Now, you've fired 1000 rounds of the DAO for every 100 rounds of your main gun. It might be nice if both guns were identical except for the kick and cost.
I'd think one of those expensive conversions would be paid for pretty quick with todays ammo prices, especially if your main gun is anything other than 9mm.
