Vinegar works well for getting rid of the smell in dark towels that you can't bleach. The vinegar smell goes away in the dryer. I/we put the vinegar in the detergent and fabric softener dispensers. Use fabric softener sheets instead of the liquid which builds up on towels (vinegar helps remove that too)

I'll be trying vinegar on the interior car windows - that film is hard to clean off streak-free.
