I really liked that gun, i should probably get another one. I really don't have any sort of a serious big game hunting weapon at all. I have stuff that would work in a pinch because i have the right kind of ammo, but none of my weapons are chambered in calibers that are made for that sort of thing at all.

I have a couple Virginian Dragoons, one a very rare 7 1/2" blued / case hardened .357 mag (there is some debate in single action circles as to whether Interarms actually even produced this combination of barrel length, finish, and caliber, but I have this one that I bought new in 1981) and another 6" stainless .44 mag. IMHO, these are some of the best damn single actions ever made. I wish I would have bought a few more when they were still making them; they are kind of hard to find these days.
There is some confusion surrounding these guns. Interarms imported a "Virginian" made in Switzerland by Hammerli for some time in the early '70's. This one was the same size as a Colt or early Blackhawk, and was one hell of a gun in its own right. I had one for awhile in .45 Colt (what else?), but found just a couple of things about it that I didn't care for, and let it go.
The "Virginian
Dragoon" was manufactured in Midland, Virginia. It is a much larger gun, about the size of the Super Blackhawk, as it was originally intended for the .44 mag. As an aside, this remains the only handgun produced in a former Confederate state since the "War of Northern Aggression" as they like to call it. If you can find one of these in .44 mag, grab it. I think it's a better gun than the Super Blackhawk.
