This has been a fun week.....

After 27 years, excessive high blood pressure, failure of my annual fitness medical, failure of SCBA certification and a gun shot which grazed my kidney, liver and spine, I have submitted my medical retirement request to the County. Until it gets approved by County Counsel I will be on 1/2 pay. The doc has certified that my football ref activities are covered under physical therapy....

I have a mortgage, three kids and bills. My disability is limited to sitting for periods of 30 minutes or more. The high blood pressure is a bit of a problem as I can't tolerate the standard medications....but I'm working on that.
