The bit about the bacteria on the feet is wrong too. If you wear open shoes, the number would be FAR less. Warm dark and moist(inside of a shoe) is a great place to grow stuff. When I took microbiology in podiatry school, I commuted by bike, and switched to flip flops and shorts when I got there. We did an experiment where we took a swab of people's feet to see what would grow out. Everybody was sure I would have all sorts of funky stuff, because of the no shoes thing. Well, everyone but the prof. Did not grow anything at all off mine, only no growth test.
