Normally." Christmas tree' is associated with bad grounds, leaking spark, or more often, bad coils. The fact that it happens, only when your lights are on suggests a bad ground, or perhaps relay in the lighting circuit, or maybe even a corroded fuse. So I guess I would start by checking switch connections. Did you try fog light/rear fog lights to see if this causes it. Parking lights only, high/low beams, to try and isolate the circuit? There are relays for front fog lamp R3
