Not sure what you mean by "thicker torsion bars", but if you've got the later Carrera bars, the front is the same between the SC and all 84-89 Carreras. The 84-86 Carrera got a 25mm rear tb vs the SC 24.1mm. So if that's what you have, then you'll have a car that feels like a Carrera.
Frankly, I occasionally drive my 911 on the street occasionally with 23/33 TBs, big sways, Elephant bushings and monoballs, custom valved Bilsteins and R-comp tires. Sure it's "firm" but it's still a blast to drive. Though I wouldn't want to take a family trip this way.
